'Am I the PR A***hole?' Ask us here
PRWeek is asking comms professionals to tell us (anonymously) about something they've done at work that may have crossed an ethical line - and we will judge if it has.
PRWeek's new podcast, 'Am I the PR A***hole' (AITPRA), is based on the popular Reddit thread “AITA”.
Each month, PRWeek will read out scenarios posted in this questionnaire. Our special guests will decide if the individuals were, in fact, the 'a-holes' in those instances, or whether their actions were excusable.
The scenarios could be anything in the line of work. Did you call a journalist a rude word after they ignored your emails? Or ghost an agency because they were arrogant? Or maybe you broke a colleague's favourite coffee mug and didn't tell them, after they stole your expensive sandwich?
We're not asking for unambiguous moral breaches, but rather 'grey areas' where there is a debate to be had.
Please detail your scenarios in as much detail as you can below, in a way that does not reveal your identity.
Our expert moral judges are Shayoni Lynn, CEO and founder of Lynn Group, and Richard Fogg, co-managing director of The Hoffman Agency. Mediating the proceedings will be John Harrington, UK editor at PRWeek - who will have the deciding vote if the judges are split.
Look out for AITPRA coverage on PRWeek.co.uk and on the PRWeek Beyond the Noise podcast feed each month.
